Watch Smile (2005) @Films4You In this heartwarming film, Katie, a teenage girl from Malibu (Mika Boorem of Blue Crush), finds herself in the throes of growing up, facing her parents (Beau Bridges, Linda Hamilton), her boyfriends, and a very privileged life. Half a world away in rural China, Lin, coincidentally born on the same day as Katie, faces a much different reality. Because of a facial deformity, she lives a life of fear and shame. When Katie’s teacher (Sean Astin) tells her class about the “Doctor’s Gift” program, Katie volunteers for the trip to China. Once there, she is deeply touched by the work, which prompts her to take off on her own to find Lin.
