“Miracle in Lahore: Voices from the Grave of the Recently Deceased”
In a remarkable incident in Lahore, mysterious sounds emanated from the grave of an individual who had passed away just six days prior. The event unfolded at the Badshahi Mosque Cemetery, known for its rich history and diverse interments. As the freshly laid soil was removed from a newly constructed grave, a wooden coffin emerged. Upon opening the upper lid, a shrouded body was revealed. The removal of the shroud exposed a face that bore signs of significant decay. The elderly woman who had been observing the proceedings stepped forward, examining the hair, the forehead, and even the teeth with the scrutiny of a seasoned dentist. Then, in a voice that resonated with conviction, she declared, “This is not my son’s body. The oppressors killed my son, but this corpse does not belong to him.” The elderly woman, Zahra Alambardar, had traveled specially from Hyderabad, India, to Lahore to retrieve her son’s remains. Her son, Hassan Naseer, was a prominent communist student leader, known both in Pakistan and pre-partition India. The police had claimed that Hassan committed suicide during an investigation, while his associates alleged that his death resulted from violence. Who was Hassan Naseer? He hailed from a distinguished family—his father, Syed Alambardar, served as the private secretary to Maharaja Sir Kishan Pershad Bahadur, a poet and a close friend of Allama Iqbal. Even after the partition, Syed Alambardar continued to hold significant positions in the Hyderabad state administration. Zahra Alambardar, Hassan’s mother, was the daughter of Nawab Mohsin-ul-Mulk, a prominent figure in the All India Muslim League. Despite the police’s claims, Hassan Naseer’s legacy lives on. His famous slogan, “Jai Hind,” became synonymous with the struggle for independence. Zahra Alambardar’s unwavering conviction and her insistence that her son’s body was not in the grave have sparked renewed interest in the case. As the investigation unfolds, the voices from the grave continue to echo, leaving the community in awe and wonder. Stay tuned for further updates on this extraordinary occurrence!
