Tawakkal 'ala ALLAH (Trust on
Tawakkal 'ala ALLAH (Trust on Allah ) is a very important and strong thing. But one point must be clear: Some people think that Tawakkal 'ala ALLAH means a person doesn't do anything and just waits for Allah to solve their problem. But this is an incorrect belief. We must see the statement of Final Prophet Muhammad sallaAllaho alaihi wasallam who likened trust on Allah to the example of a bird that goes out in the morning looking for food and comes back full stomach in the evening. Likewise we must take action and do our best but with full trust on Allah.
Yusuf alaihi salam was a child. He couldn't do anything to take himself out of the well. But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala decreed good things for him, so the businessmen took him out and he was taken to the house of a high ranking minister in Egypt. When the ministers wife was trying to seduce Yusuf alaihi salam, he ran away from her and afterwards he prayed to Allah to save him from the women and he chose prison in order to protect his piety. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala finally made him the king of Egypt. And the same brothers who had thrown him in the well came to him to buy wheat from him.
