The hand-held SiOnyx Aurora is actually two important devices in one – it functions as a color or monochrome night vision monocular, as well as a night vision video camera. It takes low light available and intensifies it to give humans cat-like night vision. This makes docking in a dark marina or finding one’s way through crab pots, floating debris, or around an unlit rock breakwater or jetty possible –- without guesswork and a silent prayer.
