The Famous Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike Tunnels & Highway

It's not every day someone
It's not every day someone gets to say they walked on and explored an abandoned section of highway. It's even more rare to say i've walked through and been on top or abandoned highway tunnels. Well for a group of us, we can say we have been there and done that.
This 13 mile stretch of road has been abandoned since the late 60's and is slowly being reclaimed by nature. It's now a public walking and biking trail that holds two unique structures. The Rays hill tunnel and Sideling hill tunnel. The 2009 movie "The Road" also filmed a scene here. Not only can you walk/bike through the tunnels, but for those who are daring enough, you can actually get inside the inner workings. I strongly advise to not go alone or at night time. There are several hidden dangers, including holes in the floor that will most likely be the last step you take.
