Kosovo's election commission set up road-side makeshift polling stations on April 20, ahead of local elections in the northern part of the country even though the Serb majority there planned to boycott the vote.
The containers were in the Serb-populated town of Zubin Potok, on the side of the road that leads to Serbia.
Authorities did the same in the three other Northern Kosovo localities populated by Serbs.
The decision to put polling stations in containers was advised by police who said organising it in normal centres as before could trigger violence from local Serbs.
