London Fire Brigade. The early years 1965-1970.

In 1965 the Greater London Council was created. Its birth brought about an enlarged London Fire Brigade. Surrounding fire brigades in the greater London area were absorbed into the London Fire Brigade, making it the largest fire brigade in the world at the time. This is a collection of images from the early years of the GLC-LFB. The GLC was abolished in 1986. The London Fire Brigade continues its work.
