People of Wall Smears! In this video I show you how to pave a garden (or at least one way to do it).
Paving a garden can be very useful to make it practicable even in winter, and to give it a neater look.The work is quite simple, but not without difficulty, so if you are a DIY lover and want to try your hand at this challenge, this it's the right place.
First of all, what do we need?
EQUIPMENT
Shovel
Pickaxe
Rake
Aluminum ruler or straight edge
Trowel
MATERIAL
Tiles (in this case 40x40x3)
Sand
METHOD
First you need to square the area to be paved, then you need to check where to drain the rainwater, in order to detach the floor with the right slope.
Use pegs and string the ropes around the perimeter so you have a clear reference to follow.
Once this is done you can start flattening the circumscribed area leaving a thickness of 1-2 cm greater than the tile.
If you have enough space, you can flatten the entire space and move the earth outside the perimeter. We, having no space, laid a part of the floor and moved the earth on it before completing the laying.
When you are sure that there is enough space on the entire surface, start spreading the sand
The best way to spread the sand is to make points using a tile and leveling it in several points of the area, then spread the sand from one point to another with the ruler to make the guides and finally pull the central part on the guides.
This operation is by no means simple, because it takes very little to create hollows or bumps on the guides.
It is necessary to pull the line keeping it slightly tilted forward and pull the sides first, then the middle part.
Once the sand has been spread over the entire surface, we are ready to lay the floor.
Here you can do as you like.
We left 4-5 cm between the tiles and filled them with earth to give birth to the grass in the joints, but no one forbids you to put them side by side and fill them with sand, or put gravel in them.
You are free to create the garden as you see fit.
We laid the floor and filled the joints with earth and swept the tiles.
At this point the work is done, we just have to wait for the earth to settle and for the grass to grow.
Until then, there will probably be tiles moving as you pass, but don't worry, it's temporary.
