Despite only about 10% of its energy currently coming from solar, the island of Krk in Croatia is on its way to be self-sufficient and carbon-neutral within the decade. The number of solar plants on the sunshine-rich island is increasing with roughly 100 new plants each year, aided in part by a political consensus in support of the green transition.
