14 years ago when we replaced our front lawn with a food forest, we could never have imagined where this Permaculture journey would take us.
Most of the time it felt like we were being pulled along by the journey itself. The more we continued doing what we were doing, the more our friends and neighbours became interested, resources accumulated, and things just really escalated from there.
We started teaching, designing, and consulting. All the while, those cheesy quotes you read about following your dreams were all starting to manifest. We started a Permaculture Guild, our students started teaching other students, and the next thing you know, it's 2022 and we're hosting a Permaculture Design Conference for thousands of people online, all around the world (https://vergepermaculture.ca/permacul....
It's really incredible to look back and see how far we've come, and we firmly believe that anyone can do what we did. If you are passionate, curious, and you have access to a patch of grass, all it takes is that first step.
Plant a tree. Join your local community garden. Take out a book on Permaculture from the library...
