Codependent-Codependent & Narcissist-Narcissist Human Magnet Relationships

In this video, Ross Rosenberg, M.Ed., LCPC, CADC explains what happens when a codependent is attracted to a codependent, and a narcissist is attracted to a narcissist. Although on the surface, it may look like it is disproving The Human Magnet Syndrome theories, once a person understands the exceptions of the "rule," then it makes much more sense.

Ross's Human Magnet Syndrome book described the irresistible attraction between Self-Love Deficients/Codependents and Pathological Narcissists. When compared to a dance, the SLD/Codependent's giving, sacrificial and passive codependency matches up perfectly with their partner's entitled, demanding, self-centered nature. The leader needs the follower, and the follower needs the leader.  In some cases, for a variety of reasons, an SLD ends up in a relationship with another SLD, and a narcissist ends up in a relationship with another narcissist. This results in very dysfunctional relationships.
