Mercedes C220 w203 remote not working. Antenna amplifier fuse blowing. Fault finding and repair.

This car came to me with the central locking not working from the remote.
Later I found that the fuse for the central locking antenna was blown, and just carried on blowing fuses.

I admit that I have not used a very recommended approach... use it at your own risk...
