Heading down the fastener aisle at your local hardware store will allow you to see that the options are pretty much limitless. With that being said, there is actually a right and wrong choice when it comes to the type and size of the fastener that you are using. I go over some of the basic things to consider when you are choosing the fastener to use for your project so that you can make the best choice and get the screw that is right for the project so that it can be way more likely to last for a long time. The truth of the matter is that any screw will pretty much get the job done and hold things together, but you likely want to do the job right and hope that the fastener will hold the things together until you actually decide to remove it. By choosing the right screw size and type for the job, you are giving yourself the best chance at having a finished product that actually lasts a long time and doesn't come loose by itself.
