A Canadian duo's dramatic - if dreadful - attempt to escape arrest from the Spruce Grove convenience store in Edmonton, Alberta has been captured on CCTV.

The two-minute footage shows the man's attempt to fight off an armed officer with a food packet from the shelf until he is tasered, before his female accomplice comes crashing through a ceiling.
