Spastic colon so this word was used long back for any spasms of the large intestine but a colon is nothing but a large intestine. Spastic means it becomes spasm, that is it becomes twisted and very tight. So now it is classified under what we call as irritable bowel syndrome where the causes are not exactly known but most of it is related to what we call as a psychosomatic means psychological stress and all can precipitate that and the muscles of the intestine especially large intestine becomes very tight and then that can cause bloating, that can cause pain in the abdomen and it can increase the stools or it can decrease the amount of passing of stools. So this is what is called as spastic colon which causes pain and sometimes loose motion, sometimes it can cause constipation.
