Before I say anything I do want to say that this transfer pump did not leak! Which is a huge plus.
What’s included with the pump:
(2) 51 in. long, 1/2 in. diameter hoses; 1/2 in. slip-fit outlet and intake nipples; Schraeder style air chuck; inflator nozzle; 16 in. long air pressure hose with snap-shut valve
Harbor freight Multi Use Transfer Pump (63144) is a portable hand sized pump that is good for small to medium jobs with a flow rate of 2.64 Gallons Per Minute. I use it specifically for transferring oil from bottle to the differential of my Mercedes Benz S class S500 and I also use it to transfer oil between my oil storage units. The Harbor freight Multi Use Transfer Pump comes with a variety of attachments making it very versatile. You really get your money’s worth with this pump. If you are doing any type of automotive job where you don’t have access to a fill hole and have to pump fluid back in manually then this transfer pump is great.
The one drawback with this pump is storage. I recommend buying a plastic container to store the pump in and also making a small stand so that you can sit or hang the pump on a solid base to prevent the transfer pump from falling and spilling oil all over the place.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you cannot return this pump back to the store. You have to call the number on the packaging if you’re not satisfied with the pump, but don’t worry. You’ll love it!
A word of caution: Please be sure to insert the “outlet” hose in deep enough so that it doesn’t burst out under pressure. In this video you can see that is what happened to me. I didn’t have the outlet hose in deep enough and when I was pumping oil the hose blew out. This was totally my fault. Harbor Freight makes great tools and products and this transfer pump by Harbor Freight is awesome! I would highly recommend that you go out and buy a few of them. The reason I suggest buying a few Harbor freight Multi Use Transfer Pumps is that you may need one for dirty oil, clean oil, and other different types of fluids.
