Just a quick video showing how I changed the water pump on a 2002 Dodge Durango 8 cyl 4.7L Magnum Motor. This is the same for years 2000-2008, and is also the same for the Dodge Dakota Truck and some of the Ram trucks as well with the same 4.7L engine. I also changed the Serpentine belt, but I didn't change the idler or tensioner pulleys. The bearings do wear out on those pulleys, so it may be a good idea to swap those out when doing this job. Also, you need to flush/drain the entire cooling system as a part of this job.
Tools Needed:
10mm socket and 6" extension
15mm socket and/or wrench
13mm socket and/or wrench
Torque Wrench
Large Crescent wrench or Fan Clutch Removal kit with a 36mm wrench and a pulley holder tool. (A lot of auto parts stores will rent you the fan clutch removal tool for free).
Small Needle Nose Pliers or similar to turn and pull out drain plug out of the side of the radiator
Coolant / Antifreeze
Washer Fluid
We bought the parts at a local O'reilly Auto parts store
