The 2009 Olde Stage Fire

The January 2009 Olde Stage Fire jumped Highway 36 and threatened homes on the plains of Boulder County. Visible to communities up and down the plains, this dramatic footage shows that the risk of wildfire is not limited to homes in the mountains. Large evacuations of residents and their animals just after the holiday season are hallmarks for this fire. The severe winds, however, stopped at an opportune time allowing firefighter to directly attack the fire and prevent the loss of any homes.
