The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) is a savings tool for the workforce. It is a scheme managed under the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952, by the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

Under the EPF scheme, an employee has to pay a certain percentage from his pay and an equal amount is contributed by the employer. The employee gets a lump sum amount (which includes his own and employer's contributions) with interest upon retirement or two months after switching jobs.

Following are the steps to activate UAN number.
Step 1:
Visit www.epfindia.gov.in on your browser. Step 2:
Select 'Our Services' and in the drop-down menu select 'For employees'.
Step 3:
On this page click on 'Member UAN/Online Services'. The page that now opens will take you to the UAN Member Portal.

Step 1:
Log in to the EPFO Portal/UAN Member Portal, click on “For employees” and then click on 'UAN Member e-Sewa”.
Step 2:
Enter Universal Account Number and password to login to the portal. Enter the captcha and click on Sign In.
