Ace investor Ramesh Damani believes India must transition from being a third-world country to the third-largest economy, but increasing per capita income is crucial.
"We need to increase that very desperately. If that happens, of course, it can be achieved," Damani told in an exclusive interview with CNBC-Awaaz on Nifty hitting 5 lakh in the next 10 to 15 years.
The ace investor said the Indian stock market continues to set new records. He sees momentum in the Indian stock market shifting from mid- and small-caps towards large-cap shares. This should watched closely, he said.
