Lakshmi Hrudaya Stotram

Goddess Lakshmi is one of the three Shakti Matas, the other two being Goddess Parvati and Goddess Saraswati. The earliest reference to Goddess can be seen in Rig Veda.

It is also mentioned in Shatapatha Brahmana that Goddess Lakshmi originated from the mouth of Prajapati to provide food, clothing, shelter and other essential things.

Goddess Lakshmi is depicted as wearing a red sari and several gold ornaments. She is seated on a lotus flower, holding a pot. She is flanked by white elephants. She is seen as the Goddess of Wealth, fortune, power, luxury, charm, vitality and divinity.
