The Law Commission of India has issued a public notice and has sought opinions on the much debated & controversial Uniform Civil Code. Barkha Dutt speaks to Prof Faizan Mustafa on the Uniform Civil Code and whether it is time for India to have a UCC.
Prof Faizan Mustafa is an Indian academic, constitutional expert and legal scholar. He is the former Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
"Reforming personal law is better than implementing Uniform Civil Code," argues Prof Mustafa addong that "Change should come from Legislature and not courts".
