(1) Hürrem Sultan

She was the wife of the Suleiman the Magnificent. There is a term called as "Power of Women sultanate " and she is the beginning of it. His colorful life, his intrigues, his intelligence, his courage and his passions, became legend.

She had five sons and one daughter.

Selim ( he is the 11th sultan of the Ottoman as Selim II )

Roxelana's tomb is in the garden of the Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul.

(2) Kösem Sultan

Her son Murat IV was a sultan at a young age and she had a great deal of influence in state affairs. After the murder of Murat, her other son, Ibrahim came to the throne and began to compete with Turhan Sultan. This period ended with the death of Kösem Sultan drowning in a nighttime room!

(3) Hatice Turhan Sultan

Hatice Turhan Sultan has been the sultan  for 34 years and became the longest valide Sultan of the Ottoman history. 66 years later the New Mosque was completed; it was loved by the people during the period.

(4) Ayşe Hafsa Valide Sultan

She is the first person who called as " Valide Sultan " She had power thanks to her husband Selim I and her son Suleiman the Magnificent. She also was popular with her beauty.

(5) Safiye Sultan

She is the mother of Mehmet III. The Yeni Cami ( known as New Mosque ) built by  her order. Her tomb is the inside of the Hagia Sofia.

(6) Mihrimah Sultan

She is the daughter of the Hurrem and Suleiman the Magnificent. She also was powerful at the palace. She was married with the Rustem Pasha

(7) Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan

It is one of the most recognized Valide Sultan of Ottoman history. She has won the love of the people with his works and the help of the poor.

(8) Nurbanu Sultan

She is mother of the Murat III. and wife of Selim II. Her origin is from Venice. Nurbanu Sultan, who was kidnapped from Venice at the age of ten, attracted the attention of Hürrem Sultan and married to Prince Selim. The poems written by Şehzade Selim's Nurbanu's love are among the most beautiful examples of Divan Literature.
