The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that connected the East and West, stretching from the Mediterranean Sea to East Asia. It was named after one of its most valuable commodities, silk, which was highly sought after in the West. The Silk Road facilitated not only the exchange of goods like silk, spices, and precious metals but also cultural exchange, ideas, and technologies between different civilizations. In the spirit of exchange, this video was presented May 17,2024 to Tbilisi State Medical University, Tbilisi, Georgia, one of the countries along this route. The purpose was to exchange ideas regarding the complex process of risk assessment. Risk assessment is complex, and  made up of various elements that have been described as the “Caprini High Five”. This concept emphasizes the principle that patients are protected not only by guidelines, but also employing all of the tools available to the clinician.
