Wallace Rudolph West ( Kid
Wallace Rudolph West ( Kid Flash ) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics as the third Flash. His power consists mainly of superhuman speed. The nephew of Iris West, he first appeared in Flash #110 (1959), which depicted his transformation into Kid Flash. Under the mantle of Kid Flash, Wallace was depicted as a teenage sidekick to his uncle-by-marriage, Barry Allen, and a founding member of the Teen Titans. After Barry's death in Crisis on Infinite Earths in 1985, Wally West took on the role of the Flash from 1986 to 2009 in DC's main lineup until Barry returned in The Flash: Rebirth. Even so, Wally is a fan-favorite superhero and the fastest character to ever hold the mantle of the Flash. He would later return as the main Flash in 2021, as part of the Infinite Frontier relaunch.
At his introduction, Wallace was introduced as Wally, the son of Rudy West, Iris' older brother. However, in DC Rebirth, it is revealed there are two Wally Wests: one the son of Rudy, and one the son of Daniel - this Wally being the son of Daniel West, whom he was raised to believe was his uncle.It has yet to be revealed which West Wallace believed to be his father before learning the truth, as it logically could not have been Daniel.
This Wally is now referred to as "Wallace" to differentiate him from his cousin.
He discovered that he was created due to Barry's mistake when he created Flashpoint.
The Flash (Avery Ho),[84] Power Girl, and Roundhouse all consider Wallace their best friend.
Irey and Jai West see Wallace as an uncle.
