As Amazon has taken over e-commerce, many companies are venturing the online retail market. However, there are still companies who refuse to ride along, such as Grocery Outlet.

CEO Eric Lindberg said there are no immediate plans for the company to venture into e-commerce, because he believes consumers don’t receive the same experience shopping online as they do in stores.

Grocery Outlet has done well against other markets because it is the cheapest place to buy food and offers a treasure-hunting experience. By purchasing items in bulk and offering them in their stores for 40% to 70% cheaper, customers are able to discover new items and enjoy the savings.

Lindberg called the supermarket chain one of the last great American dreams as it offers incredible opportunities for the 350 families that own them and they split their profits 50/50 with their operators.
