Winter is not my favorite time of year, but even here in Michigan, I've found a way to have my Winter garden still look like a garden.  I rely on lots of evergreens, garden structure, and plants that hold their own in the cold.

Join me on a quick tour of my drizzly, foggy January garden in southern Michigan (Zone 6a).  I'll show you the plants I use to keep my Winter garden looking nice.

Here's the details on a few of the plants from the video:

My hornbeam hedge has 6 total trees (Carpinus betulus 'Frans Fontaine').
'Frans Fontaine' keeps its columnar shape.
It grows roughly  35 ft tall and 9-15 ft wide.
It grows in Zones 4a-8b, Full sun to partial shade.

My favorite hellebores are:
Helleborus 'Madame Lemonier' with huge maroon flowers.
Helleborus 'Gold Finch' have yellow flowers with flecks of purple in the center.

My favorite shade plant that is super easy to grow is:
Brunnera 'Jack Frost'

Thanks for watching.
