They are two of the wildest crossover performance SUVs on the market today: The Hyundai KONA N with 280 hp meets the VW T-Roc R with a whopping 300 horses. Which boozer with real steam wins the GRIP duel? The Hyundai KONA N moves somewhere between the worlds of crossover and SUV, but pushes 280 hp, goes to 100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds and tops 240 km/h. It also has Launch Control and a state-of-the-art 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There has never been anything more radical in this class in terms of design. Not even the VW T-Roc R comes close. It starts with 20 hp more, which - in contrast to the Hyundai with front-wheel drive - is sent to all four wheels. But that also means more weight and, at the end of the day, somewhat more sluggish handling. In addition, the Wolfsburg is more than 10,000 euros more expensive.
