When the weight wheel or paired weight at the bottom is swing inwards, it thinks it is swinging from the disc. What the 2 pulleys do is to shift the swing of the weight to be from the axle of the wheel. This allows for 2 different periods to compliment each other. Period refers to the swing of a pendulum. And it's possible that my needing surgery might require me to take it easy until then, just a part of life sometimes.
