GDV & von Willebrand's Disease

Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV), commonly known as bloat, is a deadly disease that can be prevented with stomach tack surgery. Many breeds are at risk. von Willebrand's disease is a blood clotting disorder seen most commonly in Doberman pinschers and German shepherds. Other forms of hemophilia are seen in dogs as well. DNA testing can identify dogs at risk.
