🍒Let’s Make a DIY Cherry Pitter & Freeze Some Cherries!!!😍

Cherry season is here and there is a HUGE abundance of cherries in my garden 🤩 The cherries are so endless that even the birds and worms can’t keep up. So I froze part of my harvest to enjoy them later in the season too.

So far I’d been removing cherry pits by cutting the cherries open with a knife. But I saw @zerowastechef mention a DIY cherry pitter made from a fork and I knew I had to try it! 🍴🍒

Just fold the outer two prongs downward and make little hooks with the inner prongs. It’s perfect for removing the pits!

Consider freezing the cherries on a flat surface first, then transferring to a jar to make sure they don’t all stick together when you’re trying to remove them! Thank you for the tips Anne-Marie!! You can put the frozen cherries in pies or smoothies 😄

And save the cherry pits!!! We will be making a follow-up DIY with them very soon.
