Abstract Algebra 40: Left cosets need not equal right cosets

Abstract: We give another example of cosets. Let our group be G = S_3, the symmetric group on three elements, and let our subgroup H be the cyclic subgroup generated by the permutation (13). We write down the three left cosets of the subgroup H. We also show that left cosets need not equal their corresponding right coset, since (for example) the left coset (12)H is not equal to the right coset H(12).
