Route: Derby to Crewe Line

Newark Castle ➡ Crewe
A level crossing with manual gates found near Hilton on the Derby to Crewe Line. This level crossing is fairly unique as it is one of only a small handful of level crossings in the country with manual gates, LED wigwags, and alarms. The alarms here turn on with the LED wigwags, and are manually de-activated from the small signaller's hut on-site when the gates have been shut, and the lights too are activated and de-activated by the push of a button from the on-site signaller. There is a marked footway on only one side of the road here, and this is protected by two additional electromagnetic locking pedestrian gates.
