Muwan pelessa Recording - Longest Radio Drama in Sri Lanka

Muwan Pelessa is the Longest Radio Drama in Srilanka. It's started on 12 th March 1964 and still it's broadcasting through SLBC ( Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. It was started by Dr. Mudalinayaka Somarathne who was the first writer of this drama. In 1970 he has abandoned the drama and gone away the country. When he was left Srilanka the drama was very popular in all community in Sri Lanka' After receiving thousand of letters and requests from the people the Radio Station has decided to re-start the drama. Then Mr. Victor Miguel who has did  a main character of this drama has been selected to write the drama. He was the second writer and he continued 30 years the drama. In 1994 Mr. Miguel has passed away due to heart attack and then Mr. Sri Nimal Padmakumara has continued the drama for another 15 years. When he was taken over the drama he also a main actor for 5 years. And he continued the charactor named ' Janthu' for another 15 years'  And Mr. Padmakumara stopped writing the drama in 2010 and the very first writer Dr. Somarathne was continued the drama.
