First Step/She Drinks a Little -- Afterschool Special -- 1981

Her mother's drunkenness turns Cindy's life into a nightmare, a misery almost unbroken until Cindy finds solace in a organization for children of alcoholic parents (Alateen). Explores painfully and tenderly the complex feelings of a teenage girl trying to deal with her mother's alcoholism and the anger and guilt she feels over her mother's condition.  The ending offers what life offers all of us, hope without an easy resolution.
