Spotify Connect: Use your android smartphone or iPhone as a remote control for Spotify and switch playback between devices. Listen to and control Spotify on your devices. [Spotify Premium feature]
In this video we will go over how you can enable and use Spotify Connect, a Spotify Premium feature that allows you to use your Android smartphone or iPhone as a remote control for Spotify and easily switch playback between different devices such as your smartphone or your laptop or PC.
Spotify Connect also allows you to control playback on speakers and other devices that support Spotify Connect but in this video we will focus on playback on Android smartphones and iPhones and laptop or desktop computers.
First of all, click on this little circle at the bottom of Spotify's menu to go to settings. From Spotify Settings navigate to "Connect to a device. Listen to and control Spotify on your devices". This is Spotify Connect.
Once you click on "Connect to a device" Spotify will detect all your devices that are connected to your Wi-Fi network running spotify.
You can now choose whether you would like to listen to Spotify on your laptop, PC or smartphone. You will also be able to use your Android smartphone or iPhone as a remote control for Spotify. Enjoy music through your PC's speakers from the comfort of your couch, without having to use a mouse all the time or sit in front of your laptop or desktop PC.
You can also switch between playback on your android smartphone or iPhone from your laptop or desktop PC. Click on the icon on the lower-right corner and you will see all your connected devices and select on which one you would like to listen to Spotify.
Unfortunately, Spotify Connect is a premium feature so if you are using the free ad-supported version of Spotify then Spotify Connect is not available.
So that's it. That's how you can use Spotify Connect as a remote control for Spotify and control and listen to Spotify on different devices.
