Today we're going to be taking a look at part number P99901. These are the Putco push up tie downs. You're going to get one pair, which is going to be two tie down points. These pop up anchors are going to provide accessible tie down points for your cargo. Very simple installation. The tie downs mount in the stake pockets of your pickup truck.
Universal design is going to fit most vehicles without any drilling required. This will not fit the 2014 or newer GM new body trucks, so keep that in mind as well. Very convenient, easy to use design. All you have to do is push the center of the tie down to raise the loop for use and then press again to stow it for a nice, clean sleek look. It's made from a stainless steel construction, very durable and rust proof. Has a nice chrome plating that's going to provide a nice, classy style.
Each one is going to provide a capacity of 500 pounds. So, as a unit, that'd be a 1000 pound capacity. You're going to get two tie downs, the hardware installation instructions. Everything you need for a complete install. Putco's going to cover this with a lifetime warranty. Now a few measurements to go over real quick.
Just the opening size that you're going to have here to be able to get a hook in there, or rope, you're going to have, going this direction, you're going to have about 5/8 of an inch. Going this direction you're opening's going to increase to 1 inch. Then going this way you're going to have about 11/16 of an inch. This position here that would be sitting on top of the bed rail, that's going to give us a measurement of about 3 and 3/8 of an inch by 2 and 3/8 of an inch. The portion that's going to be sticking into the stake pocket, without any of the attachments, just want to give you a frame of reference, this is going to be about 1 and 3/8 of an inch by 3 and 1/2 inches. Now I have one here with the thickest rubber block installed.
This is going to give you that basic measurement to go off of to let you know how much space you're going to need inside you're stake pocket. This is the measurement that you're going to need not to exceed. So as long as you're in between the two measurements I'm going to give you then these should work really good for your application. With the widest, or the largest rubber block installed, that side to side measurement is going to increase to 2 and 5/8 of an inch. You also have a rubber grommet that goes underneath this portion here. It sits in between the steel construction and the construction on the bed rail of our pickup to protect it, make sure it doesn't do any damage or scratches. With that rubber grommet installed that measurement is going to decrease to about 3 and 5/16 of an inch. Really simple installation though. All you have to do is place this into the stake pocket. You have these nice little nuts down here with a few threads in it. That way it allows the bolt to catch in to it. Once you have this inside your stake pocket you're going to have three different size rubber blocks to choose from, depending on your application. You put that in there, all you have to do is come up, tighten down. It's going to bring this to the top here. Another neat thing about these rubber blocks is it's going to secure at a point up here, kind of pinching the bed rail of your pickup. Again, rubber construction so it's not going to do any damage. So it's going to pinch and then once you get it really tight, the rubber block is actually going to expand a little bit. So if there's any side wall inside the stake pocket it's going to push against that too. So it potentially has about two points of contact for a nice secure fit. That's going to be on each side inside the stake pocket mount. That's going to do it for our review of part number P99901. These are the Putco push up tie downs, universal fit application. .
