We left Friday Harbor with a slight weather window Thursday morning (meaning the winds were predicted to be less than the days leading up to and well after). All was fine until we hit the middle of the strait, then the seas piled up with confusion. That and the flooding tide with anomalous west winds had us really rolling with aft quartering following seas. Otherwise, the wind was fine and never went over 25 kts. Besides a sick cat and one crew, there was only one casualty - a glass vase broke. Finally made it into Port Ludlow and our home slip at dusk. Traveler performed admirably, and got us home safe and sound like a good little ship! Now to start addressing all those leaks and other issues that cropped up on our summer of working/cruising...
