The standard operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This video in Computation teaches that other non-standard operations can be created. Examples are given of how to use defined operation in calculations.

1. Addition, multiplication, subtraction and division of whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
2. calculate any fraction or percentage of a given quantity
3. express one quantity as a fraction or percentage of another (Comparing two quantities using fractions and percentages)
4. Convert among fractions, percentages and decimals
a. Conversion of fractions to decimals and percentages
b. conversion of decimal to fractions and percentages
c. conversion of percentages to decimals and fractions
5. convert from one set of units to another
a. converting within the metric scales
b. 12-hour and 24-hour clock
c. currency conversion
6. express a value to a given number of
a. significant figures (1, 2 or 3 significant figures)
b. decimal places (1, 2 or 3 decimal places)
7. write any rational number in standard form (Scientific notation)
8. Ratios and Proportions
a. compare two quantities using ratios
b. divide a quantity in a given ratio
9. Solve problems involving:
a. rates
b. arithmetic mean
