The hearing on the petitions filed against the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act, 2023 will be held today.


An 8-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial will conduct the hearing, which includes Justice Ijazul Hassan, Justice Muneeb, Justice Mazahir Naqvi.

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Ayesha, Justice Hasan Azhar and Justice Shahid Waheed will also be part of the bench.

The Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Bill presented by the government has become a law after the approval of the Parliament and the signature of the President, but a hearing was also scheduled against this law as soon as it was made.

The court has issued notices to other parties including the Attorney General, while the Supreme Court has also issued an injunction on the Practice and Procedure Act.
