About the game:
Anno 1503: The New World (released as 1503 A.D.: The New World in North America) is a 2002 construction and management simulation developed by Max Design and published by Sunflowers Interactive. It's part of the Anno series, and is the direct sequel to Anno 1602, the most commercially successful German game ever by 2002. Anno 1503 revolves around building and maintaining a 16th-century colony in the New World.
Anno 1503 begins with the player in control of a ship filled with men and material searching for an island to settle. After finding a suitable site city building begins. Resources begin as food and cloth, but progress into more complicated and different goods. Eventually, citizens become Aristocrats, and require at least ten different goods and numerous services, such as access to a large church or a bathhouse.
About the run:
This is by far the most difficult Anno I have ever played. Level 01 is already a real challenge. Your finances are super tight, the merchant is not really supporting your business and your build options are limited at settlers level.
In order to win you need 4 Archers, 4 Swordsmen, 1 Scout, 50t food, 50t wood and 100t tools. Completing this in sub 2h was my overall goal and I needed some tries to figure out a decent build order. Overall there is some time to save, my tool production was not the best so at the end of the level I had to wait longer then expected. Still I managed to successfully sail towards west with my fleet to win this harsh mission.
I am playing without fast forward, sure this would save time, but I just dont like it.
