If you're having issues with your Xiaomi scooter, such as it not turning on or charging, turning off during rides, or a sudden drop in battery range,
then this guide may help you fix the problem.
In my case, my scooter would not turn on at all, and the charger light remained green even when plugged in, indicating that it wasn't charging.
Normally, the light should turn red while charging.
To fix this issue, I needed to disassemble the scooter deck and check the battery first.
The quickest and easiest way to do this is to use an electrical screwdriver.
First, unplug the power cable between the controller and battery,
then release the communication cable between the controller and battery.
Next, unplug the charging cable from the battery.
Now you can unscrew the battery from the scooter, which is connected with 4 bolts. Also, release the plug for the rear lamp, which you can do with a pair of forceps.
You can now safely pull the battery out of the deck. To check the battery, you'll need to unfold it from the original cover.
You can use a knife to cut in the middle. Then, check the LED light on the battery, which is located on the Battery Management System (BMS) circuit board.
It should flash with a blue color. If there's no LED flashing, then there's a problem.
Check the pins that connect to the battery cells. They should all be tight and soldered. In my case, I found one disconnected pin just by physical checking.
I needed to solder it by cleaning the pins, putting rosin and tin, and then soldering the pins after cleaning the contacts.
The battery is in normal condition when it flashes a blue LED light, which mine wasn't.
After soldering the contact, I connected the charger to the battery, and it started blinking with a red light.
However, I found another broken contact, so I soldered it as well.
Now, the battery is flashing with a blue light, which is normal. You can see it in the video. The battery is now back to normal, and I need to pack it again.
Unfortunately, I don't have the thermal plastic cover for the battery with me, so I'll wrap it in insulating tape.
It won't be waterproof as before, but it's the only option I have for now.
Putting the battery back in the deck and connecting the rear lamp cable, I screw in the bolts that hold the battery.
Then, I plug in the charging cable, battery communication, and power cables to the controller.
Finally, I recheck that the scooter turns on by pressing the power button on the handle, and if everything is fine, I assemble the deck cover.
That's it! I hope this guide helped you fix your scooter. If you found it helpful, please give it a thumbs up, subscribe, and see you soon!
