How to call 911 on a locked smartphone (the kids need to see this)

New surveys show elementary school kids cannot reliably call 911 in case of an emergency. Part of the reason is access to smartphones and lack of access to landline phones. If mom or dad need help, their smartphone could be locked leaving the child with no option to dial 911.
