You may have heard of pressing flowers, but how about seaweed?
Turning nature into art is easy! Harbor WildWatch's Science Specialist, Stena, walks us through a seaweed pressing tutorial. Multiple examples of seaweed are included for best technique to pressing, as well as tool recommendations.
Remember, a permit is required for seaweed collection and we encourage sustainable harvesting by only taking what you need for pressing and not collecting from only a single area of the beach. Bull kelp should only be collected when stranded in the seaweed wrack line on the beach. Full bull kelp collection is not permitted in the Puget Sound.
