Canon EF 80-200mm f/2.8L “THE MAGIC DRAINPIPE” A cheaper alternative to the 70-200 f/2.8

If you shoot with canon and then at some point you have probably thought how you would like to get your hands on the EF 70-200mm f/2.8, well here is an alternative f/2.8 zoom and it’s less than half the price.
First up I have updated and extended this review, with plenty more practical information about this lens - check it out on the POP UP CARD or on the END SCREEN
I had this lens for about a year and shot with it a lot. The only things that let it down are the lack of weather sealing and the lack of Image Stabiliser, other than that the image quality is absolutely exceptional. I was really fond of this lens but in the end I had to sell it on so I could get a stabilised weather sealed lens.
I recommend this lens for the quality but I would say to make sure you test the copy. These are old lenses now and the focus mechanism can get really clunky in them. You want it to sound and feel smooth with decent resistance on the zoom and focus rings.
Good luck with the lens, and if you came here wondering if it is any good, it definitely is... image quality and sharpness are the name of the game here!
