In Iao Valley State Park near Kahului, the Iao River has carved its way through the volcanic mountains of the West Maui Mountains covered by dense rainforest. The landmark of the nature reserve is the Iao Needle, a green, conical rock needle. In the river valley of the Iao we finally walk through a highly attractive scenery rich in vegetation.
