For this panel, we sat down with 3 survivors of trauma - Zinette, Alondra and Nova - to have an in-depth discussion about what their experience was like with disclosing their abuse for the first time. Each panelist was asked to answer the following questions/prompts:
00 Intro
27 - True or False - I felt supported when I first disclosed my abuse.
01 - Who did you tell? Why did you choose that person?
24 - True or False - I was believed when I first told someone
18 - How did you feel after getting it off your chest?
57 - How did the first time you told someone affect the way you approach telling other people moving forward?
07 - Do you have any regrets in disclosing your abuse?
25 - What do you feel is the ideal way to handle it if someone discloses their abuse to you?
05 - True or False: It gets easier to tell my story over time.
47 - What is the best approach in coming forward about your story? When is the right time?
15 - Any words of wisdom for the survivors out there who haven’t yet disclosed their abuse to someone?
