NZ4Q 30S1 Conversion GS35B

Collins 30S-1 converted from a single 4CX-1000a tetrode to a single GS35B triode, 70 watts drive equals 1500 watts out!! Center picture shows a much larger plate transformer, that over heated and shorted primary to secondary, weight of the first transformer was 125 lbs, as you can see the hydraulic jack under it! I installed the second transformer in the third picture from an Alpha 77, it looks like a filament transformer compared to the other!!  I have 3740 VDC @ 1amp, also installed a 4" muffin fan to move the heat around in hopes of not having the over heating problem again!!!!!!!! This has been a great project and certainly nice to operate, well worth the time , money and effort!!
