Middle EASTERN Refreshing cucumber minty Doogh (Ayran, Lassi) recipe! Doogh is a savory, salty, minty blended yogurt best for summertime! Doogh is very popular drink in Afghanistan.
To make my doogh extra tasty I use Tangy, thick, and creamy, labneh, known as Chaka in Farsi!
It is basically yogurt cheese. Just like Greek yogurt, it is made by straining yogurt until it loses most of its liquid. If you think of Greek yogurt as strained yogurt, labneh is extra strained yogurt.
It’s incredibly unique and flavorful and unlike any drink I’ve ever tasted. It is served cold mostly in hot summer days , a drink made by blending yogurt, ice and cold water.
Simple ingredients are:
Yogurt, labneh, chaka
Cucumber
Fresh mint
Dry mint
Ice cubes
Water
Salt
Ice
