For more than fifteen years Police Lieutenant Kinderman (George C. Scott) has been haunted by the death of his friend. Father Damien (Jason Miller). Now, on the 15th anniversary of the exorcism that claimed the Father's fife, Kinderman's world is once again shattered when a boy is found decapitated and savagely crucified. It's just the beginning of a nightmarish series of bizarre, religious murders. Soon, a priest is found stabbed in the confessional, and Father Dyer (Ed Flanders), -- another of Kinderman's close friends, is brutally slain in his hospital bed. When a psychopath claiming to be the infamous Gemini Killer (Brad Dourif) admits responsiblity for all the murders, Kinderman insists on a personal confrontation. The man does, — in fact, know intimate, gruesome details that only the true killer could possibly know about. There's only one problem ...the Gemini Killer died in the electric chair fifteen years ago!
